PiccoQuest
A downloadable game for Windows

A little RPG that lives on your desktop. Tuck it in the corner of your screen, send your hero off adventuring, and get on with your day, PiccoQuest ticks away in the background and pings you when there's loot to claim.
No grind-staring required. It's idle: nothing winds down while the game is closed, so you just collect whatever finished while you were away.
What you'll do
- Quest through cellars, caves, burning forests, and sunken crypts each with its own pixel-art scene and a monster waiting at the end.
- Gather & craft: forage, fish, log, and mine, then cook food and brew potions at your own stations.
- Train your hero: push your stats, and risk overtraining for a temporary edge.
- Fight in the Arena: an asynchronous PvP ladder with Elo ratings and a global leaderboard.
- Gear up: hunt equipment across five rarities, from common kit to genuinely rare legendaries.
- Build a crew: add friends, join or found a guild, and climb together.
- Spend your talent points: shape your build as you level from 1 to 50.
Made for the long game
PiccoQuest is the kind of thing you leave running for weeks. Quests scale from a few minutes to a full day, your hero grows steadily, and there's always one more thing cooking. It auto-updates itself, so once it's installed you never have to re-download.
This is an early alpha
I'm building this in the open and would love your eyes on it.
- It's free, with no ads and no purchases.
- It's Windows only for now.
- Your progress may be wiped as I rebalance things, please don't get too attached to that legendary just yet.
- Found a bug or have an idea? There's a Report a bug button in-game, and a Discord where I hang out and post updates.

Heads-up on install: the build isn't code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen will throw up a "Windows protected your PC" warning. Click More info → Run anyway to install. (Totally expected for an indie alpha, signing comes later.
AI/LLM Disclosure: LLMs were used to generate some code, specifically the backend code that maintains the servers. Regrettably, I bought some AI generated art from Itch.io that I will be removing and replacing with hand-drawn art. I only realized after buying it and inspecting the assets right before I was going to use them...

Cool game, especially for someone like me, whose work demands spending whole days online.
